Our Story

"We started Strings for Healing in 2011 after our grandma had a stroke. Whenever we visited her in the hospital, her occupational therapist told us that music, especially classical music, helped tremendously with stroke patients by stimulating the brain. Ever since she told us this, we began playing the violin for our grandma every time we visited her until she passed away in June 2014. My sister and I started playing at hospitals and nursing homes near our town when finding out that other patients in the hospital were hearing us play. Patients would continuously tell us to come back again. We are forever grateful to feel empowered by helping others feel happy. It is a wonderful feeling to see patients smile when playing for them because it makes you realize how important it is to put others before you. "

"For us, Strings for Healing is not just a way to perform, but a foundation to build a community that deeply impact the lives of others (both medically and emotionally speaking). It is truly a blessing to project a new form of happiness through music therapy. I find it profoundly uplifting to hear such wonderful stories and to witness the joyous attitudes from not only the patients but also from families to even staff members! I am extremely grateful for creating and being a part of such a wonderful organization that prioritizes the well-being of others. Thank you for following us on our journey in enlightening the lives of other's one note at a time! "
